One night, one dangerous new friend, @FAYE CHAMBERLAIN
PERMALINK // POSTED ON: May 8 2018, 08:09 PM
To say that Faye had a lot of spare time to herself would have been a vast overstatement of the truth. While there had once been a time when she had more time than she knew what to do with, a lot had changed since those days. Perhaps too much had changed since those days.
It was nice to be able to focus her time and attention on her store, especially since it was a small stab at the pathetic excuse for "rules" within the city that strictly limited the witches and their use of magic. It was even better to be able to get away from the post-marital bliss that consumed both Adam and Cassie; it was almost gag-worthy.
Perhaps Faye should be happier for her two friends, but there was always that small, dark little spot in the back of Faye's mind that chose to be somewhat selfish and somewhat stubborn; that was hard to shake, even if her friends were deserving of the happiness that they seemed to be finding with each other.
It didn't help that Faye and Diana still weren't on the best of terms, either, but it had been Diana that had burned that bridge and had failed to rebuild it. Perhaps had there still been some remnants of it left in the girls' lives, it would have been Diana that was accompanying Faye out that evening, but as fate would have it, that was furthest from the case.
Things had been rather quiet at her store that evening and, after closing for the night, the brunette witch had decided she had earned herself a drink. Having sent a quick text to Melissa in a blind hope that her friend would at least meet up with her and spare her from drinking alone, Faye knew that it was a shot in the dark. Melissa had better things to be doing... like Nick.
Seattle was still quite new to Faye, but she knew her way around a bar, that was for damn sure. Stealing herself one of the few seats left surrounding the front counter, she was quick to order herself a couple of shots of Sambuca, offering the bartender a short smile in thanks as she polished the first of the shots off with an experienced ease that had come with years of doing her fair share of shots...
