Both figuratively and literally, it is a task to occupy the generations. And no matter how much progress one makes, there is always the thrill of just beginning. We are all connected; To each other, biologically. To the earth, chemically. To the rest of the universe atomically.

[OS] If I Die Young

Adam had been traveling for over thirty hours, so when he stepped out of the airport in Gulfport, Mississippi, he was more than considerably happy. He knew exactly where he was going, and he had more than enough time to get himself psyched up for the fight. He was still a little nervous about the fact that no one knew where he was.
It was better this way. Or at least that's what he kept telling himself. With no one to follow him, no one but Faye and Crowley knowing what he was going up against, it was the best bet to end this once and for all. If he was going to go down, he would take Abaddon down with him.
Crowley had given him an exact location, and he was definitely counting his blessings for that guy. He would never have tracked down that evil bitch this soon had it been on his own, not with Cassie lurking.
Yes, he had feelings for her. Yes, it killed him to not kiss her every moment they were together, but there were too many complications at the time. Faye and their recent history was a big one, but this little trip was something that he felt like she would have been more concerned with. He couldn't have promised her a future without knowing if he was going to have one.
After picking up a rental car with the only fake ID he'd ever even touched, he went straight to the bar Crowley named. He was exhausted, but adrenaline was taking over. There would be time for sleep when Abaddon was dead.
Crowley was familiar with Abbadon. The evil smile when Adam had confronted him had tipped the young witch off. Adam wasn't sure he could trust the mysterious englishman, but he had come through with a location and pictures. Adam knew exactly who he was looking for.
He had never been to the gulf coast, and he was a little taken aback by how friendly everyone was being. That made him a bit nervous, too. Would killing what looked to be a beautiful twenty-one year old college student go unnoticed in this town? Surely not. All Adam had to do was get in and out without anyone noticing.
He walked into the bar and noticed her immedietely. The one thing that didn't add up was what her backstory was. What the hell was something like Abaddon doing in the deep south posing as a sorority girl? It just didn't make sense.
But there she was. He glanced down at his phone and compared her to the picture Crowley had emailed. About Cassie's height, blonde, couldn't weigh more than 100lbs soaking wet. This would be too easy, and if he did it right, the girl might even survive.
The way Adam saw it, Callie Mason was a dead girl walking. Abaddon didn't allow survivors. It wasn't how things worked. Adam casually sat at the bar for nearly an hour before watching her walk out the door. He couldn't let her see him and run the risk of recognizing him. Risking the life of one girl was very different than risking the lives of everyone in the bar.
He exited casually and followed her. He lost her only for a moment, before he wised up and turned around. It was already dark, the alley he was standing just feet from hidden by shadows. He could see her face, though, her eyes black.
Adam was immedietely blinded by rage. He no longer considered the life of Abaddons host. He didn't care. All he cared about was ending her. He could still access the skulls power from where it sat in the trunk of his car. He felt the magic building up inside of him, preparing for a fight.
He slowly walked into the alley, a wicked grin on his face. "I've been waiting for this a long time." She crossed her arms over her chest, practically daring him to give it his best shot. He couldn't tell if she recognized him or not. "And who the hell are you?" Well, that answers that question.
Adam apparently didn't answer quick enough. Before he knew it, he was slammed against the brick alley wall with a simple flick of the girls wrist. "Oops." She giggled. Bitch.
He groaned as he stood up. He glared at her, and she leaned against the opposing wall, watching him innocently. "Abaddon, I will fucking kill you if it's the last thing I do." She cackled. He swore, and used almost all of his power to throw her into a nearby dumpster.
She stood effortlessly, and flung him again, this time into a trash pile. He struggled to his feet and retaliated. He could barely breathe. Something had cut him in that trash pile. It was now or never.
Before she could stand up, he started in on the spell he found in his Book of Shadows. "Exorcizamus te, Omnis Immundus Spiritus, Omnis Satanica Potestas, Omnis Incursio Infernalis Adversarii, Omnis Congregatio et Secta Diabolica, Ergo Draco Maledicte, Ut Ecclesiam Tuam Secura, Tibi Facias Libertate Servire, Te Rogamus, Audi Nos!" He said, almost doubled over.
She had hurt him badly, but as she screamed and the black smoked disappeared into the ground, he didn't care. He fell to the ground and stared at the lifeless body of the girl for a long time before pulling himself up and stumbling out of the alley. He needed to find a hospital. Fast.
