please take the time to read before starting new threads
What exactly is a one shot? That's a good question since most websites don't actually have a section for one shots! A 'one shot' is a thread that is started by one character and that consists of only one post from said character. Sort of a way to speed something up without starting a thread, or a way to get creative and write a bit from your character's past.
Sounds a little silly since this is a role-play community and not a solo role play website, huh? Yeah, we hear that a lot, but sometimes it's just easier on members, plots and characters to work with a one-shot rather than deal with an entire thread.
Still not making much sense? Well, here's an example! A character named Alex Udinov is an active character used by our admin member Shantel. Her story on-site starts with her working as a trained rogue) assassin dating a man named Oliver Queen (the Green Arrow). Because both characters started their journey on-site already together, their history was never put into threads. One-shots can be done to explain how these two characters first met and what drew them to each other.
These are great ways to touch on the past or even something like a character starting an eating disorder alone in a bathroom, a character finding a startling secret while home alone and so on and so forth.
We ask that everyone uses the same template to keep things clean. No pictures or additional coding should be used for one-shots. Just start a thread much as you always would and be sure to add all of the plot information in said thread rather than posting multiple times in said one shot. It's not a one-shot if there are more than one post after all, so needless to say, no one can reply to these threads. The beginning of your thread topic, of course, should be [OS] for 'one shot'.
